About Us
Atomic Energy Central School, Mysore was established on 5th March 1991 with 77 students, 1 regular Teacher, 5 adhoc teachers, 1 LDC and 1 MT Staff to serve the children of BARC employees. Initially housed in the Club House of the residential colony at Yelwal, it moved to its current building in 1997. Managed by Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES), Mumbai, and affiliated with CBSE, the school has grown to ___ students, with a dedicated team of ___ staff members. The school has consistently excelled academically, with its first Class X batch in 1997 and Class XII batch in 2011 achieving outstanding results. Students have secured admissions to top medical, engineering, and professional institutions. The school has received prestigious awards constituted by A.E.E.S, Mumbai, including the Vikram Sarabhai Trophy (2002–2005) and the Dr. Homi Bhabha Trophy (2004–2005). In 2009, the school was upgraded to the Senior Secondary Level. The school has well established Science laboratories, computer laboratories, Library, activity rooms, a satellite interactive terminal room (ASTER Lab) and other infra structural facilities. AECS Mysore shines in co-curricular activities, with students earning recognition at national and international levels in chess, karate, and more. The unwavering dedication of the staff continues to drive the school towards greater achievements. While many milestones have been crossed, AECS Mysore remains committed to reaching new heights.

Courses Offered
Balavatika
The Balavatika section aims to provide early childhood care and education (ECCE) to children aged 3–6 years. It focuses on nurturing creativity, curiosity, and foundational skills through play-based and activity-oriented learning. It encourages social, emotional, and cognitive development in a joyful, safe environment.
Primary Section
The primary section (Classes I–V) emphasizes holistic development with a balanced curriculum. Core subjects like English, Mathematics, and Environmental Science are complemented by art, music, and physical education to foster well-rounded growth.
Secondary Section
In the secondary section (Classes VI–X), students build a strong academic foundation across science, mathematics, languages, and social studies. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, practical learning through well equipped laboratories and preparation for board examinations.
Senior Secondary Section
The senior secondary section (Classes XI–XII) offers Science streams with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects, along with a choice between Biology or Computer Science as the fourth subject. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for higher education emphasizing learning through hands-on experiments in well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science which provide practical exposure, fostering scientific inquiry.

INTER AECS RBVP - 2025
All the first prize winners at the school level RBVP represented AECS, Mysore in various categories at the All India Inter AECS, Rastriya Bal Vigyanik Pradarshini held at Mumbai, organised by AECS-4 Mumbai and AEJC Mumbai from 6th to 7th December 2025. In a remarkable display of talent and determination, Rishika M. of Class VIII bagged the first prize in Waste Management & Alternatives to Plastic, bringing immense pride and glory to the school.
52nd Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani (RBVP) – 2025
Shravani V.K. represented the school at the 52nd Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani (RBVP) – 2025, held at the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhopal from 18th to 23rd November 2025. Her project titled “Optimization of Solar Panel Placement Efficiency Using Machine Learning” came under the subtheme Mathematical Modelling and Computational Thinking and was guided by Ms. Vyshnavi Savanth, PGT (CS) on Contract.The project received remarkable appreciation and commendation from AI-domain experts associated with IIIT and IISER, who participated as guest speakers at the event, recognizing its strong technical merit. The school is extremely proud to announce that a patent application has been submitted for this project.
INTER AECS ART COMPETITION
The All India Inter AECS Art Competition 2025–26 was held on 29th October 2025, with enthusiastic participation from students of Balvatika to Class XII.
Kum. Shravani Vijay Khandagale won the Second Consolation Prize at the All India Inter AECS Art Competition 2025–26 held on 29th October 2025.
INTER AECS HINDI DEBATE COMPETITION -2025
Two teams from AECS, Mysore represented the school in the Junior and Senior categories at the Inter AECS Hindi Debate Competition held at AECS-1, Hyderabad, from 23rd to 25th September 2025. Kum. Riddhi Kochar and Kum. Rishitta Mishra competed in the Junior Category, while Kum. Shravani Vijay Khandagale and Kum. Anjali Ramesh Kumar represented the Senior Category. The senior team made AECS Mysore extremely proud by securing the Second Prize at the Senior Level.
ALL INDIA INTER AECS GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ COMPETITION - 2025
Master Rudra Mishra and Master Macha Surya Prajwal of AECS Mysore brought laurels to the school by securing the Second Position at the Zonal Level of the All India Inter AECS General Knowledge Quiz Competition 2025. The event was held at AECS, Indore, from 23rd to 25th September 2025.
ALL INDIA INTER AECS/JC ATHLETICS MEET - 2025
AECS, Mysore athletes excelled at the All India Inter AECS/JC Athletics Meet 2025 held at AECS-2, Kalpakkam from 11-10-2025 to 14-10-2025. Saanvi V. of Class VIII won third place in the 200 metres, and the Girls’ Relay Team secured second place in the 4 × 400 metres relay.
IOQM - 2025
Tarun Raj Maurya of Class VIII and Jaykrishanan of Class IX have qualified for the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM), held at AECS Mysore on 7th September 2025. Out of 21 participating students, the two of them excelled by scoring 15 out of 100 marks, surpassing the qualifying cutoff of 10.
All India Inter AECS Cultural Meet 2025
Students of AECS, Mysore participated enthusiastically in the All India Inter AECS Cultural Meet held from 21st to 23rd July 2025 at AECS, Kudankulam. They competed in various categories, including instrumental and vocal solos in both junior and senior categories, as well as a group performance in the junior category. Kum. Shravani V.K. of Class XII bagged the second prize in the Senior String Instrument category and Mas. Ruthresh of Class XII was awarded the Encouragement Prize in the Senior Western Percussion Instrument category.
AISC 2024 Challenge of the Year 2024 – School Track.
Kum. Shravani Vijay Khandagale was felicitated during the morning assembly on 24th April 2025, as her project was adjudged one of the top three first prize-winning projects in the Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing – AISC 2024 Challenge of the Year 2024 – School Track.Her project, titled "Optimization of Solar Panels Using Machine Learning," leverages real-time data and AI-ML-driven optimization to adjust the tilt of solar panels, ensuring maximum efficiency.
CRYPTICS 8.0
Six students of AECS Mysore enthusiastically participated in Cryptics 8.0, an All-India Level Computer Quiz Competition organized by Vydehi School of Excellence. The preliminary round, conducted online on 31st October 2025, provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their logical thinking, problem-solving skills and computer knowledge at the national level and was guided by Ms. Vyshnavi Savanth, PGT (CS) on Contract.
Following the preliminary round, Master Surya Prajwal of Class VIII and Kum. Viva More of Class VI B qualified for the next round, which was conducted on 19th November 2025.
IISC PRAVEGA
Master Abhinand C. S. of Class IX, with his project titled “AI Doctor,” and Kum. Rishitta Mishra of Class X, with her project titled “AI-Based Water Bodies Waste Tracker,” have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Pravega XII Science & Technology Exhibition, organised by IISc Bengaluru, in recognition of their innovative and high-quality projects. The Grand Finale is tentatively scheduled to be held from 6–8 February 2026.

Master Mokshith Reddy M of class X was selected at the District Level for the INSPIRE MANAK Award and received ₹10,000/- for the year 2024–25 in recognition of the science project titled - “ SIGN LANGUAGE RECOGNIZER USING Artificial Intelligence

PAINTING COMPETITION
Kum. Sannidhi Satish of Class VI B participated in the painting competition conducted by the Ministry of Power to promote energy conservation among students and was shortlisted for the State Level competition held at CPRI, the Nodal Centre for Karnataka on 21st November 2025. She also received a cash prize of ₹2,000 for being among the top 50 participants from the state.
